My work begins in the East Anglian landscape: the garden, the fields beyond it, the wide skies and low light. Sketches made outside become semi-abstract paintings back in the studio, built up slowly in acrylic, charcoal, graphite and ink. I’m interested in what accumulates — weather, season, the quiet layers of history under our feet.
